The benefit of microseismic does not come from looking at a cloud of events. The real benefit to clients is in advanced analysis that combines geomechanics with geophysical interpretation of the microseismic data in order to answer the questions that are most pressing in unconventionals development: what completions strategy works best and how best to constrain their earth model. An optional add-on to our standard deliverables is our GeoEngineering™ Analysis, in which a geoengineer analyzes the data using various tools and summarizes observations in a comprehensive final report. In that analysis, we work to answer the key questions the client had for the project, often revolving around frac growth, well spacing, parent-child well relationships, zipper frac order, type of slip, natural and near-wellbore fracture complexity and more.
Sigma Cubed understands that high-quality processing is the foundation for interpretation. The processing group provides multi-disciplinary teams events with suitable event location control to make quality interpretations. Geophysical and engineering parameters are examined, correlating discrete microseismic events and/or cumulative datasets to geological models, seismically-driven attributes, and engineering parameters.
